Zion National Park has a lot going for it – magnificent views, diverse wildlife, hikes that dreams are made of, just to name a few – but there is one thing that we don’t have: high-speed WiFi.
It’s true, our internet connectivity at Zion can be spotty and posting that perfect picture you just took could take some time or even have to wait until you leave the park. Our limited connectivity is mostly due to our remote location and the internet speeds that we are able to provide are capable of checking an email here or there but little else.
So What Are You Supposed to do Without a Reliable Connection?
Our first piece of advice is to embrace it. You came to Zion National Park to make an everlasting memory, didn’t you? Breathe the clean air, take in the amazing views, snap a picture of a passing bighorn sheep, embark on a hike, the possibilities for enjoying yourself without the aid of the internet are boundless.
What if You Really Need to Get Online?
There are areas in the park such as the historic hotels and restaurants that have better service than others, but the typical internet speeds in those areas are not what you are used to at home. If you really need to get online, expect things to take a little bit longer than normal and make peace with the fact that you aren’t going to be able to binge-watch Netflix during your stay.
When Push Comes to Shove, Take in the Magic of Your Surroundings
This is one of America’s best ideas after all. Take the opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take this time to unwind and reconnect with nature.
